Product Features
The new OS6850 switch family addresses the needs of modern enterprise and triple-play networking: flexible, stackable configuration; power over Ethernet, high availability, first-packet wire-speed performance, and dramatically improved network response time. Similar to the existing Alcatel OmniSwitch, the OS6850 series uses the Alcatel Operating System (AOS). This ensures an easy and economical way to upgrade or deploy a new Ethernet network. The flexible configuration options offered by the OS6850 family make them suitable for a small/medium network in the core or at the edge of a large network. Also, the OS6850 is future proof for networks with native support of IPv4 and IPv6 switching.
